Trump Alluded To, Russia Confirms Ukraine's War On National Security Is Not Oil Price

JAKARTA - The Ukraine War is a matter of Russia's national security and not about oil prices.

This was confirmed by the Kremlin on Friday, January 24, after US President Donald Trump called for oil price cuts.

Trump on Thursday said he would ask Saudi Arabia and OPEC to lower oil prices.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the problems Russia is facing in Ukraine are national security, threats to Russian citizens living there, and the United States and Europe's refusal to listen to Russian concerns.

Ukraine and its supporters in the West rejected the argument, saying Russia launched a war as an imperial-style seizure of land.
