Head Of Garut Satpol PP Calls Alcohol Seller Sanctioned With Fines And Prison Confinement
Head of the Garut Regency Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), Usep Basuki Eko, said that the dealers or sellers of liquor (alcohol) who were arrested as a result of a joint raid had been fined and imprisoned.
According to him, the punishment is based on the legal process for minor crimes (tipiring) as a form of providing a deterrent effect.
"There are only fines for perpetrators who have just been arrested with the initials MP, while the second perpetrator on behalf of DC has been sentenced to imprisonment and fines," said Usep in Garut, West Java, Friday, January 24, confiscated by Antara.
He said that the Garut Satpol PP was following up on the case of the circulation of liquor involving two initials MP and DC to be processed according to applicable legal regulations.
He said the MP dealer received a tipiring verdict at the Garut District Court with a fine of Rp. 10 million, then DC in the first arrest was fined Rp. 15 million, during the first arrest legal process, DC was again arrested for selling alcohol and was sentenced to four months in prison and a fine of Rp. 30 million.
"While in the process of making the first arrest, he (DC) was arrested again for the same case, namely a liquor dealer," he said.

"So the number is 3,312 bottles, plus the results of our non-judicial patrols are 1,362 bottles," he said.
Separately, the Head of the Garut District Attorney's Office, Helena Octavianne, added that her party had finished handling the tipiring case regarding the circulation of alcohol in Garut as a result of the action taken by the Garut Satpol PP.

"Under six months of his sentence, everyone pays a fine. That's from the Satpol PP, all from October (2024) to January (2025)," he said.
