Held Closed, Family Denies David Lynch's Funeral At The Theater
JAKARTA - David Lynch's family released a statement regarding the information on the director's funeral circulating on the internet. David Lynch died on January 16 due to emisema caused by his smoking habit during his life.
Thursday, January 23, David Lynch's family responded to reports that David Lynch's funeral would be held at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Los Angeles on January 28 and held traditionally. Several close friends and collaborator Lynch are also said to have given his last speech.
"Hopefully there will be a moment of warning for David Lynch but now there is no funeral or anything planned for January 28 or any other time. We're with people flying for this and it feels wrong to see people writing this," said David Lynch's family.
"It hurts a lot. Please complain to who wrote this lie. Also, no funerals have been held yet, so the report is wrong," he said.
"Don't believe everything you read!!! Please complain to anyone who wrote the lie for the number of viewers. It's sad," said the family.

They also added screenshots of several news that said David Lynch would be buried on January 28.
The news of David Lynch's death was first announced by the family via his Facebook page. They also quoted the 78-year-old director's words.

Tributes poured in from the entertainment industry to David Lynch, starting with director Steven Spielberg who once invited Lynch to be a kameo in the film The Fabelmans.
Ted Sarandos, CEO of Netflix also revealed David Lynch is planning a new series for the platform. Various actors such as Laura Dern, Edgar Wright, Hugh Jackman, Questlove also paid tribute to the director.
