Closed Meetings, Commission X DPR And Kemendikti Saintek Discussing Budget And Internal Chaos
JAKARTA - Commission X of the DPR held a closed-door working meeting with the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mendikti Saintek) Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro. In fact, the leadership of the DPR has suggested that the meeting be held openly.
Deputy Chairman of Commission X DPR Lalu Hadrian Irfani explained the reason for the closed working meeting with the Minister of Education and Technology because he discussed the budget and sensitive issues and internal problems at the Ministry of Education and Technology.
"First, the budget for tukin was included in the budget for other programs such as Garuda schools. Second, there are sensitive things, policies that have not been submitted to the public, because the Ministry of Education and Technology, Saintek, took the initiative to ask for considerations from Commission 10, " said Lalu Ari, Thursday, January 23.
"Well, we had a meeting first with all the chiefs, then from the Minister of Higher Education, we also asked for consideration and it was agreed that the meeting would be held behind closed doors. And we have reported it to the leadership of the DPR," he continued.
The discussions in the three-hour work meeting included performance allowances (Tukin) for lecturers. For 2025, said Lalu, the Ministry of Finance has approved Tukin lecturer payments of IDR 2.5 trillion.
"Well, later the disbursement process is being prepared by the Ministry of Education and Technology, Saintek. In the near future, the Presidential Decree will be drafted, later after the Presidential Decree is issued, then a derivative will be made, namely the Ministry of Education and Technology, to pay Tukin," explained Lalu.
"Of course we are waiting for Permen, which is clear, this is a breath of fresh air for our Tukin fighters, that the Ministry of Finance, Pak Prabowo Subianto's government has budgeted for Tukin in 2025 to pay Rp2.5 trillion. A total of 33,957 of our lecturers will be paid Tukin. That's the first one," continued the PKB legislator.

The second discussion is about the superior schools to be built. "What was built was only four Garuda schools. Then the other four were for the transformation of Garuda. So there are 8 Garuda schools and the transformation of Garuda," said Lalu.
Then the third, is about the internal chaos that exists at the Ministry of Education and Technology, Saintek. Then he said that the chaos regarding the dismissal of employees and verbal and physical violence experienced by ASN at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education had been completed.
"Everything has been resolved, the Minister has said that there are no problems, there are already common ground. And we at Commission X hope that the incident will not happen again in the future," he concluded.
