Minister Of Public Works: Highest Accident Occurs On Trans Java Toll Road During Nataru 2024/2025
JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo stated that the highest number of accidents occurred on the Trans Java Toll Road during the Christmas 2024 and New Year 2025 periods (Nataru 2024/2025). The number of accidents reached above 50 percent.
This was conveyed by Dody in a working meeting with Commission V of the DPR RI regarding the Evaluation of the Implementation of Nataru Holiday Transportation at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, January 23.
"During the 2024/2025 Nataru implementation, we have evaluated safety on toll roads in the period 18 December 2024 to 3 January 2025, areas with the highest percentage of accidents occurred on the Trans Java Toll Road by 52 percent," said Dody.
Meanwhile, the number of accidents that occurred in Jabodetabek and the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS), namely 21 percent and 15.5 percent, respectively.
"Meanwhile, other areas such as Bali, Kalimantan and Sulawesi have relatively small contributions," he said.
Dody explained that the dominant factor in accidents is humans. Then, followed by the factors of the vehicle itself.
"The dominant factor causing accidents is that most people. Indeed, the condition of the driver is the main cause, we suggest increasing awareness and driving education," said Dody.
"Meanwhile, the vehicle factor itself accounts for around 22 percent of these accidents," he continued.

As for the time, said Dody, accidents often occur between the afternoon and midnight, which contributes to 29.6 percent.
"Based on the time of the accident, the peak of the incident occurred in part generally between 18.00 and 24.00 at around 29.6 percent," he said.
Then Dody said that Java Island was the area that contributed to the highest number of accidents during the Nataru 2024/2025 period.
"In Java, the highest number of accidents occurred on December 23, 2024. At the peak of Nataru's own current, namely December 21, 2024, there had been 19 accidents, while on backflow December 29, 2024, there were 11 accidents," he concluded.
