Join 2025: Menpar Increases Synergy Of Indonesian Tourism And The World
JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism (Menpar), Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, in a series of participations at the "ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) 2025" in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, held a number of meetings with representatives from various countries and parties to discuss various programs to advance the tourism sector and the economy in Indonesia and the Southeast Asia region.
A number of meetings attended on Monday, January 20, 2025, included The 12th ASEAN - India Tourism Minister Meeting; The 4th ASEAN Russian Federation Tourism Minister Meeting; Bilateral Meeting with Agoda; Bilateral Meeting with Cambodia; and ASEAN Tourism Minister's Press Conference.
Menpar Widiyanti in her statement, Tuesday (21/1/2024), said at the 'The 12th ASEAN - India Tourism Minister Meeting' forum that she was 'discussed' to strengthen ASEAN and India's collaboration in supporting tourism recovery, as well as appreciating the contribution of Indian tourists as one of Indonesia's main markets'.
Furthermore, Menpar Widiyanti attended the The 4th ASEAN - Russian Federation Tourism Minister Meeting' forum. On this occasion Menpar Widiyanti thanked the Russian Federation for providing Russian language training, as well as the experience of exchanging Bali tour guides to Russia, which is expected to be useful for increasing human resource capacity in the Indonesian tourism sector.
Meanwhile, at the meeting of Menpar Widiyanti with the Minister of Tourism of Cambodia, Hout Hak, the two countries discussed strengthening the potential for cooperation in the promotion of cultural sites such as Borobudur, Prambanan, and Angkor Wat. This collaboration is also expected to open up opportunities to share the best practices for Indonesia and Cambodia in the management of sustainable tourism destinations.
With the right program, Indonesia and Cambodia can continue to encourage an increase in the number of tourists with special interests in the fields of History and Culture," Menpar Widiyanti added.

At his meeting with Agoda, Menpar expressed his wish that more Agoda programs could be harmonized with the Ministry of Tourism in developing sustainable tourism.
"We discussed various collaboration programs and potentials that can encourage Indonesian tourism, as well as make it easier for tourists to access to various destinations in the country," said Menpar.
