Young People's Awareness Of Health Problems Is Increasing In The Last 2 Years
JAKARTA - After the COVID-19 pandemic, health topics have increased among young Indonesians, especially in the last two years. This was revealed through the results of the Lokadata survey released in 2024.
The survey involved 10 thousand respondents' panels, consisting of young people aged 18 to 35 years spread throughout Indonesia. They answer 5 to 10 questions every week regarding various trends, one of which is about health during the survey.
"The more they come here, the more they talk about health issues. In the past, we talked a lot about fashion trends and so on, but in the last two years we have caught that the health content for young people is increasing," said Lokadata Chief Data Officer, Suwandi Ahmad, at the Power Lunch event, in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

However, the health issues discussed by young people are not about treatment like the previous generation. They tend to talk about health related to the prevention of various diseases.
"The health issue is not about treatment, but now there are more things that are preventive in nature," he said.
This can be seen, one of which is sales of fitness equipment to maintain an increasing body health. Such as fitness equipment to various sports equipment.
"We see that one of the indicators is the trend of selling equipment to maintain fitness. For example, sales of fitness equipment rose by almost 300 percent in 4 years, that does not include sports shoes and others," concluded Suwandi Ahmad.
