Speaker Of The House Of Representatives Reminds Prabowo Government To Adjust The Program To State Finances

JAKARTA - The chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, reminded the governments of Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka that the work programs implemented in 2025 will still be adjusted to the state's financial capabilities.

"Every government program that has a good purpose still requires planning, financing, and implementation in accordance with the principles of good governance, thus providing comfort for the people," said Puan in a plenary meeting at the parliament complex, Tuesday, January 21.

Puan emphasized that the 2025 fiscal year is an initial challenge for new governments with strategic policies that require adjustments in various ministries, institutions, and other fiscal policies. He also asked the government's program to improve the quality of life for the community, income, and ease of public services.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives also reminded the importance of risk mitigation that could threaten fiscal resilience amid geopolitical and global economic uncertainty. According to him, the coordination of monetary, fiscal, and financial authorities must be strengthened to create a conducive national economy.

Puan also encourages government spending to be more effective and efficient, accompanied by policies that can attract investment and create a business climate that is friendly to investors.

"The DPR will continue to pay close attention to the implementation of the 2025 State Budget so that the government's program really has a positive impact on the people," he said.

At the end of her statement, Puan ensured that the DPR would use the supervisory function to maintain the financial condition of the state and the national economy to remain stable in order to support the development and economy of the people.
