Solok Police Arrest Thief One Set Of Train Door Cross

JAKARTA - The Solok Police arrested a man with the initials RAT (36) for stealing a train gate set that reached a loss of around Rp220 million.

Solok City Police Chief, AKP Basri said the RAT perpetrator was arrested for stealing a railroad crossing gate, on Jalan Imam Bonjol, Tanah Garam Village, Solok City.

"We arrested the RAT for stealing a set of railroad crossing gates belonging to the Directorate General of Railways," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 21.

When the police arrested the perpetrator, they tried to escape into the forest.

"When we were about to secure the perpetrator, we tried to escape into the forest. But in the end he was caught and taken to the Solok City Police Headquarters," he said.

The theft incident itself occurred on Friday (12/27/2024), which he did at 03.00 WIB in the morning.

Based on the investigation, information was obtained that the perpetrator was at his house and was arrested.

"In carrying out the action, the perpetrators are not only alone but there are other perpetrators who are currently still being chased by us," he said.

Meanwhile, evidence of a set of railroad crossing gate has been cut and damaged. The loss due to this theft is estimated at IDR 220 million.
