Bali Police Propam Examines 2 Kuta Police Personnel Allegedly Received Rp200 Thousand When Colombian Citizen Reported Robbery
DENPASAR - Profession and Security (Propam) of the Bali Police, examined two personnel from the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT) at the Kuta Police regarding the virality of a woman from Colombia with the initials SGH who admitted to paying Rp. 200 thousand in cash, when reporting the case of losing her cellphone to the Kuta Police Headquarters, Bali.
The Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Kombes Ariasandy, emphasized that the Bali Police Propam has currently conducted an examination of the two SPKT personnel of the Kuta Police with the initials Aiptu GKS and Aiptu S who are suspected of receiving Rp200 thousand from the reporter of a foreigner.
"Propam Polda Bali has now investigated the two SPKT personnel of the Kuta Police," said Kombes Ariasandy, Tuesday, January 21.
The two police officers will be placed in the special placement (Patsus) of the Bali Police Bidpropam.
The two SPKT members are suspected of violating the police professional code of ethics as referred to in Article 5 paragraph (3) of Perpol Number 7 of 2022 which reads that every police official in institutional ethics is obliged to carry out his duties, authorities and responsibilities proportionally in accordance with his scope of authority.
"And Article 12 letter h of Perpol Number 7, Year 2022, which reads that every police official in social ethics is prohibited from burdening costs in providing services outside the provisions of the legislation in the form of an act," said Kombes Ariasandy.
Previously, it went viral on social media for a woman from Colombia, with the initials SGH, who admitted that she was asked for Rp. 200 thousand when she reported the burglary case to the Kuta Police Headquarters, Badung Regency, Bali.
The Colombian claimed to have lost his cellphone on January 5.
Due to the loss of a cellphone in Uluwatu, South Kuta, a member of the SPKT advised the Colombians to report to the South Kuta Police.
"However, the foreigner did not want to use emergency reasons because he wanted to go to his country and the foreigner requested assistance for insurance claims," said Kombes Ariasandy.
At that time, the police on duty at the Kuta Police SPKT helped make a police report on the loss of a cellphone.

Furthermore, after receiving the report of the loss, the foreigner gave Rp 200 thousand to SPKT picket personnel as a thank you.
"However, at this time the Bali Police Propam is still investigating the two members of the Kuta Police SPKT to find the truth, if the person concerned is found guilty, of course Propam will act according to applicable regulations," he said.
