WhatsApp Beta Releases Music Upload Ability In Status
JAKARTA In October, WhatsApp tested music support for the Status feature. The ability was initially tested for a small number of users, but is now becoming publicly available via beta updates.
Based on WABetaInfo's findings, WhatsApp beta version 2.25.2.5 for Android devices can now upload status with music support. Even though it has started rolling out, this feature can only be accessed by several registered testers.
When you want to upload text or images on your status, the user will see the music notification icon at the top of the screen, to be precise next to the image cutting icon. When the icon is tapped, the complete music catalog will open immediately.
This catalog is almost similar to the licensed catalog on Instagram. Users can search for the desired music by typing the title of the song or the name of the artist. This catalog will also suggest superior or trending songs.

The duration of the music displayed will be adjusted to the length of the Story that the user uploads. Especially for status updates in the form of videos, the duration of the music will be adjusted to the status duration limit, while the photo is limited to 15 seconds.
If later this feature is widely available, users can slide the track and select the part of the song they want to use properly. Meanwhile, from the user's side, the title of the song and the name of the singer will be displayed at the top.
When the song is tapped, the user will be directed to the singer's Instagram profile. Although it has been viewed in beta, it is not certain when the feature will be available in a more stable version. Most likely, the feature will be launched in the coming months.
