Indonesian House of Representatives: Arrest And Adjudicate Jozeph Paul Zhang!

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PAN faction of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Saleh Partaonan Daulay, hopes that the police will immediately arrest a man named Jozeph Paul Zhang because he is considered to have harassed the people and Islamic teachings which can be categorized as blasphemy.

"I have heard and watched the video. Very provocative. Muslims who hear must be offended. Moreover, currently of Ramadan, Muslims are busy carrying out their prayers", said Saleh in a statement received by VOI, Monday, April 19.

The former chairman of the Muhammadiyah Youth said that Jozeph Paul Zhang had also made open hate speeches, even challenging everyone to report it to the police. There is an impression that he is a person who is above the law and untouched by law enforcement officials.

"Hate speech like this is not only intended for Muslims, you know. This is also for the police. As if our police are powerless when dealing with him," said Saleh.

According to him, it is very appropriate for the police to immediately arrest and thoroughly investigate the perpetrators. So that he knows that everyone is treated equally before the law.

"Apart from that, so that this incident becomes a lesson for all parties not to do the same thing", said Saleh.

The legislator for the North Sumatra II electoral district strongly condemned Jozeph Paul Zhang's actions that were inappropriate for an educated person. "Moreover, it happened in Indonesia, a tolerant country, which respects the beliefs of all religious communities".

The deputy chairman of DPR hopes that the police can arrest Jozeph Paul Zhang wherever he is. Including if the person concerned has gone abroad. Saleh is sure that the police will be able to arrest those concerned by using the Interpol line of cooperation.

"Reportedly, he has gone abroad. However, it is believed that the police will be smarter. Many cases like this have been resolved. Let's just wait for the police to work quickly", said Saleh.
