Whitesnake Guitarist John Sykes Dies At The Age Of 65

JAKARTA - Legendary musician, Whitesnake guitarist John Sykes reportedly passed away on January 20. He breathed his last at the age of 65.

The news was confirmed through an upload on his official Facebook page. According to the statement, John died after battling cancer he had suffered over the past few years.

"We express our sadness that John Sykes has died after battling cancer," the caption reads, citing Variety, January 21.

"He will be remembered by many as a man with extraordinary musical talent, but for those who don't know him personally, he is a wise, kind and charismatic man whose presence illuminates the room."

John Sykes is remembered as a person who has a strong character. The family revealed that in the final days of his life, John was often grateful for the support of the fans.

"He really follows his own rhythm and always supports the weak. In his last days, he spoke of his sincere love and gratitude to his fans who have supported him for years. Even though the impact of his loss is very deep and his mood is gloomy, we hope that the light of his memories will extinguish the shadow of his absence," the statement said.

Apart from having a career as Whitesnake guitarist, John Sykes is also part of Thin Lizzy and Tygers of Pan Tang music groups. The style of the game is fiery by this bronze-haired guitarist being something iconic in every stage action.
