Manchester United Will Borrow Antony
JAKARTA - Real Betis is close to reaching a loan agreement for Manchester United winger Antony.
A number of clubs have expressed interest in signing the Brazilian player in January 2025.
Real Betis leads the competition. Even though the official agreement has not been reached, the La Liga club is increasingly confident.
The problem is, verbally, both parties have agreed regarding the loan. Currently, the document is being examined and Antony will then undergo a medical examination.
According to ESPN reports, if an agreement is reached, the cooperation will likely be in the form of a loan until the end of the season with Manchester United paying at least part of the 24-year-old's salary.
In the loan clause, according to Fabrizio Romano - world football transfer expert - there is no purchase option.
Antony has struggled to justify Manchester United's decision to spend more than 80 million pounds signing him from Ajax in 2022.

However, in fact Antony failed to shine and was not worth the price tag. He has performed 95 times -- most of them under former manager Erik ten Hag who has also worked with him in Ajax -- and has scored 12 goals.
However, the 24-year-old forward has not started in the Premier League since May 2024 and has only started in three games in all competitions this season.
He is under contract at Old Trafford until 2027 with the option of an extension of one year until 2028.
Head coach Ruben Amorim is not committed to Antony's future after a 3-1 win over Southampton on Friday, January 17, 2025.
Meanwhile, United are still looking for a club to sign Marcus Rashford in January 2025.
Borussia Dortmund has outperformed AC Milan in the hunt for his signature after the Italian club decided to explore the possibility of signing Kyle Walker from Manchester City.
Serie A rules require Milan to only recruit one England player in January 2025 and have to vote between Rashford and Walker.
