Prevent Social Conflict, Ditpolairud Polda Metro Deploys 4 Ships At The Sea Pagar Location

The Directorate of Water and Air Police (Ditpolairud) Polda Metro Jaya conducts patrols in Tangerang waters, precisely around the location of the sea fence. The goal is to prevent conflicts or criminal acts.

"Ditpolairud carries out patrols at the location of the sea fence to prevent criminal acts or social conflicts," said Director of Polairud Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Joko Sadono to VOI, Monday, January 20.

In carrying out patrols, Ditpolairud deployed four ships that would circle the waters alternately.

Regarding the implementation of patrols, it is stated that the ship deployed will ensure that the location of the sea fence is safe and conducive in every two hours.

"For now, we have deployed 4 ships every day to replace them every 2 hours by adjusting the situation and the weather," he said.

On the other hand, regarding the possibility that Ditpolairud will intervene to investigate or take action on the sea fence installation incident, Joko stated that he was still waiting for the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP).

Because, until now, the authority regarding this issue rests with the ministry.

"Ditpolairud Polda Metro Jaya will provide investigative assistance if there is a request from the KKP," said Joko.

Previously, the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono said that there was a fishing association that claimed to have installed a sea fence in the waters of Tangerang Regency, Banten.

"We got the information, he said, was a fishing association. So we are still calling it," said the Minister of KKP in Badung Regency, Bali.

According to him, the party who claims to have installed a sea fence from bamboo is the unity of the North Coast fishing community (Pantura). However, he continued, the fishing group that had been summoned by the KKP did not attend the call.

His party will ask the police for help in investigating the installation of the sea fence.

"He has been summoned several times by the Director General of PSDKP (Director General of Marine and Fisheries Resources Supervision) but has not arrived. We have asked the police to help us carry out the investigation," he added.
