Repair Of Jalan Gondanglegi Sp Balekambang In Malang Targeted To Be Completed In May 2026
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) targets the repair of Jalan Gondanglegi Sp. Balekambang in Malang Regency, East Java, to be completed in May 2026. This project is financed by foreign loans from the Islamic Development Bank.
The repair work of Jalan Gondanglegi Sp. Balekambang is divided into two work packages with a total length of 30.48 kilometers. The first package of 16A Lot along 16 kilometers with a budget of IDR 167 billion.
Then, Lot 16B's second package covers 14.48 kilometers with a value of Rp172 billion. The work was carried out by the Jaya Konstruksi Consortium Samarana Modern JO.
The scope of work includes widening the road from 8 meters to 11 meters, reconstructing roads, replacing and maintenance of bridges, installing box culverts and lighting of LED public roads (PJU).
PU Minister Dody Hanggodo emphasized the importance of proper project completion, time and cost.
"This road has a strategic role as access to coastal tourism areas in South Malang," said Dody as quoted from his official statement, Monday, January 20.

To date, the physical progress for road repairs has reached around 7 percent. In detail, the physical progress for Lot 16A reached 1.61 percent and Lot 16B at 5.12 percent.
The road repair project has been carried out since October 2024 and is targeted for completion in May 2026. "I hope that the construction will run smoothly and be completed according to the target so that the benefits are immediately felt by the community," he concluded.
Previously, Jalan Gondanglegi Sp. Balekambang has the status of a district road, but has now been upgraded to a national road. With its strategic position as the main liaison to the East Java Pansela Line, it is hoped that this road will facilitate access to a number of beach tourist destinations in South Malang, such as Balekambang Beach, Ngliyep Beach and Sendang Biru Beach.
