Glodok Plaza Fire Losses Estimated At IDR 90 Billion

Head of the DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Isnawa Adji revealed that the estimated material loss due to the fire that occurred at Glodok Plaza, Tamansari, West Jakarta reached around Rp90 billion.

"From the object affected by Glodok Plaza Mall, the 7th, 8th, and 9th floors, the estimated loss is IDR 90,900,000,000," said Isnawa in his statement, Sunday, January 19.

Meanwhile, the alleged cause of the Glodok Plaza fire, according to Isnawa, is still under investigation by the police.

A total of 14 people were reported missing in the fire, based on information from the victim's family and colleagues who reported to the Poskotis. The forensic medical team of the Polda Metro Jaya is still carrying out an identification process related to the victim's body.

"For the number that has been evacuated, there are 8 body bags, which are currently being identified at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital. The development of the victim's identity will be further informed after the release of data from the Kramat Jati Police Hospital," said Isnawa.

The fire and rescue services are still monitoring the condition of the building and are still conducting regular searches.

"The search process for other victims has been temporarily suspended pending further instructions," said Isnawa.

It is known that the fire at Glodok Plaza occurred on Wednesday, January 15 at around 21.33 WIB. The officers finally succeeded in the cooling process on Thursday, January 16 evening, and the fire was completely extinguished on Friday, January 17 evening.

The Gulkarmat Service deployed dozens of fire engines at the mall located on Jalan Pinangsia Raya, Mangga Besar Village, Tamansari District. Pedadaman is also carried out with a skylift bronto unit.
