ICRC Ready To Help Exchange Prisoners Between Israel And Hamas
JAKARTA - The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has stated that it is ready to manage all aspects of the prisoner exchange between Israel and Hamas under a new ceasefire agreement.
"We are ready to implement all aspects of this operation and implement an agreement between the two parties, which will allow family reunions throughout Israel and the Palestinian Population Territories," an ICRC spokesman told reporters on Saturday, January 18, quoted from Sputnik via Antara.
The spokesman added that his party was also ready to carry out the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza.
He added that the ICRC is preparing large-scale operations that include transportation logistics, increasing staff numbers, distribution of emergency supplies, training for medical personnel who will handle released detainees, as well as careful security planning.
