This Is The Story Of The Deputy Minister Of Public Works Regarding IKN Development To Be Special

Deputy Minister (Wamen) of Public Works (PU) Diana Kusumastuti revealed that the reason for the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) in East Kalimantan is so special. He told how his party realized the new capital city as a forest city and a liveable city.

Diana said, the construction of IKN from the beginning until now has a long journey. Initially, at that time his party was only asked to create an IKN model, then a design concept competition was held until the winner was determined and construction began.

"The Garuda bird was finally designed by Mr. Nyoman Nuarta. Then assisted not only Mr. Nyoman, but his team of architects," Diana said as quoted from the video upload on the official Instagram account @kementerianpu, Saturday, January 18.

Diana explained the reason for the design of the Palace in the form of Garuda was because at that time, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) wanted a palace that has Indonesian characteristics. Not only the presidential palace, the design for the vice president's palace, the legislative, judicial and religious complex offices is also said to have been determined.

"Finally we were together with Bappenas, with the ministry. In the past, we were also the chairman of Pokja for infrastructure development with Bappenas. Finally, we together for PU started the construction. Until now we started with the palace," he said.

Before the construction of the Palace, Diana reminded again that there had been a ceremony to collect land and water from 34 provinces. Then all of them were buried at the zero point of IKN.

"This will still be the beginning of the development of IKN," he explained.

He also ensured that the construction of IKN was still in progress. Apart from the Palace, construction was carried out for the coordinating minister's office.

"These Coordinating Ministers will later share office. If in the past there were only four, now there are seven. Of these four, we have built and hopefully it will be finished this year," he concluded.
