Chinese President Xi Jinping Titip Salam Ke Megawati

Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri received greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping. This message was conveyed by the Minister of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party (IDCPC) Liu Jianchao.

This was conveyed by PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto after accompanying Megawati in a meeting with Liu Jianchao and Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Wang Lutong at her home, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Friday, January 17. The dialogue took place warmly and in many discussions.

One of the discussions discussed was related to the history of holding the Asia-Africa Conference in Bandung during the government period of the First President of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno or Bung Karno.

"Minister Liu conveyed about Indonesia's cooperation with China. He also expressed his appreciation and contribution to Mrs. Megawati and President Soekarno in cooperation between the two countries and conveyed warm greetings from President Xi Jinping," said Hasto in a written statement.

Not getting there, Hasto said Megawati received an invitation to come to Yunnan Province, South China. The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia was enthusiastic because the food there was similar to Indonesia.

In fact, Megawati is said to want to meet food vlogger and YouTuber there. "According to Megawati, Yunnan Province, the type of food is similar to Indonesia," he said.

"Moreover, Yunnan Province has succeeded in alleviating poverty. Mrs. Megawati wants to meet a food vlogger and YouTuber Yunnan who went viral because of her ability to cook by showing Yunnan's taste," continued Hasto.

Even so, it is not yet known when Megawati will fulfill the invitation. "Mrs. Megawati is also very interested in Yunnan Province's ability to overcome extreme poverty," he concluded.
