PLN RUPTL Completes Next Week

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia ensured that the Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) of PT PLN (Persero) 2025-2034 will be completed next week. In the RUPTL, the government targets to increase the electricity capacity by 71 gigawatts (GW) with 70 percent being the new renewable energy (EBT).

"Not yet (tilted). One more week," said Bahlil briefly to the media crew at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Office, Friday, January 17.

Regarding the majority of the new renewable energy (EBT) that will be used to achieve this target, Bahlil does not provide details, but he ensures that all EBT sources will be used to achieve the 71 GW target.

"There are many kinds, from geothermal, from wind, from sun, from gas," said Bahlil.

Not long ago, Bahlil also held a meeting with the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir and Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani on Tuesday, January 14.

Through his Instagram, SOE Minister Erick Thohir conveyed that the meeting discussed the scheme to meet national electricity needs, develop quality electricity supply and develop renewable energy.

"We are targeting to increase the electricity capacity by 71 GW, with 70 percent being New Renewable Energy (EBT)," Erick wrote on official Instagram @erickthohir, quoted Tuesday, January 14.

Erick said that the increase in the capacity of electricity sourced from EBT was the government's effort to ensure a more environmentally friendly energy reservoir.

"This is the Government's commitment to ensure a more environmentally, new, and renewable energy transition for future generations," Erick wrote again.
