Hattrick Amad Diallo Reduces Manchester United's Top Pressure On Amorism

Ruben Amorim said he was grateful that Amad Diallo's hattrick against Southampton helped the conversation with one of Manchester United's owners, Sir Jim Radcliffe, going smoothly.

Manchester United won against the English League bottom club with a dramatic 3-1 win.

The Red Devils were wary because they fell behind through Manuel Ugerti's own goal in the 43rd minute.

Up to 10 minutes before dispersal, Manchester United were still 0-1 behind. Luckily, Amad scored three goals in the remaining 12 minutes.

Amoriam spoke to Ratcliffe after the game and said he was grateful for the discovery of the Ivory Coast player.

"I had five minutes with him (Ratcliffe) to talk about things. It wasn't a good game, but the results helped the conversation!"

"We continue to do our job. Today is more important to win. I know fans want to see a much better football, but we need to win the game."

"We managed to win and we will prepare for the next game," said Amorim.

Manchester United was not wrong to tie Amad Diallo five years ago. Although they had fought hard throughout the match against Southampton, the 22-year-old became a hero. It was a hat trick at their first senior level.

"Maybe one of the best weeks of my life. I'm very happy for this win. This team deserves to win this game. So, I'm very happy."

"We know we have quality players in this team. Sometimes we need to be more hungry for victory in the final third."

"Today we showed that we are the best team. I am very happy with today's win because this team deserves it," Amad Diallo said after the match.

Amad quickly became the most important Amorim player. The Portuguese coach told the striker he would be needed again when Brighton visited Old Trafford on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

"He has to rest, eat good food. Sunday we need him again. He did a great job, the right moment for a young man to score three goals for this club."

"He helped us and he had a very good season. I've talked about this. You have to be careful with young people."

"Congratulations to him, enjoy tonight and he needs to appreciate these moments," said Amorim.

Manchester United are enjoying a revival since the first match of 2025.

They managed to hold back the draw of the leader of the standings, Liverpool (2-2), before winning on penalties against Arsenal (3-5) in the FA Cup Third Round.

The latest three matches without defeat stopped the poor results in the previous eight matches (six defeats and two wins).
