Fulfill PM Modi's Invitation, Prabowo Visits India As Chief Guest On January 24-26
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) announced that President Prabowo Subianto would carry out a state visit to India as an invitation from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 24-26.
The visit was held in order to strengthen the Strategic Comprehensive Partnership between the two countries formed in 2018.
"This visit will be President Prabowo Subianto's first state visit to India which will also be a sign of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia andIndia," said a statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, January 16.
During the visit, President Prabowo is scheduled to receive a welcoming ceremony from Indian President Droupadi Murmu at India's Presidential Palace, Rashtrapati Bhavan on January 25.
Prabowo will also hold bilateral meetings with Modi in the Goderabad House and the two leaders will witness the exchange of a number of memorandums of understanding (MoU) between the two countries in various sectors; health, culture, education, maritime security and safety, traditional medicines.
In addition, Prabowo is also scheduled to visit Raj Ghat in order to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
On the last day, Prabowo will attend the celebration ceremony of the 76th Day of the Republic of India as the Head of Guest.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said President Prabowo was the fourth president of the Republic of Indonesia to be invited as the Chief Guest along with the presentation of a historic performance, namely the marketing band of 352 Indonesian military personnel who will participate in the parade commemorating the Day of the Republic of India.
President Prabowo's visit to India emphasized the strengthening and expansion of strategic cooperation between Indonesia and India, especially in the economic, defense, maritime sectors since the two countries agreed to become Strategic Comprehensive Partners in 2018.
