KPK Leader Waits For Investigation Report To Follow Up On Uncle Birin's Case

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Setyo Budiyanto said the fate of former South Kalimantan Governor (Kalsel) Sahbirin Noor or Uncle Birin is still waiting for the investigator's report.

This was conveyed by Setyo when asked about the follow-up of his institution after the status of suspect Uncle Birin related to the bribery case for the procurement of goods and services at the South Kalimantan Provincial Government died. This is because the South Jakarta District Court (PN) granted the pretrial lawsuit filed.

"We are waiting for a report from investigators," Setyo told reporters after holding a meeting at the Supreme Court (MA), Jakarta, Wednesday, January 15.

Even so, this report seems to be still being submitted for a long time. Setyo said investigators were still dealing with a number of cases.

"While we are still focusing on several other cases," he said.

On a separate occasion, the Director of Investigation of the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, said that the exposure or title of the case to determine Uncle Birin as a suspect had already been carried out after the pretrial decision. There, all the evidence and witness statements that have been summoned have been explained.

However, sprindik cannot be published yet. "Currently, there is not enough or there is no sufficient evidence. In terms of material, it has not been fulfilled so that the person concerned has not been named a suspect," he told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, January 8.

As previously reported, the South Jakarta District Court (PN) received part of the pretrial application for the Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor. This decision made the status of the KPK suspect against Uncle Birin in the bribery case for the procurement of goods and services illegal legally.

The pretrial lawsuit filed by Uncle Birin is registered with Number 105 / Pid.Pra / 2024 / PN JKT.SEL. In this case, he was named a suspect in receiving bribes along with four other people.

The four suspects with Uncle Birin are the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) of the South Kalimantan Provincial Government Ahmad Solhan (SOL), the Head of Cipta Karya as well as the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) of the South Kalimantan Provincial Government Yulianti Erlynah (YUL), the Management of the Tahfidz Darussalam House as well as the collector of money or fee Ahmad (AMD) and Plt. Head of the Household Section of the Governor of South Kalimantan Agustya Febry Andran (FEB).

Meanwhile, as the suspect givers, namely Sugeng Wahyudi (YUD) and Andi Susanto (AND) as private parties. A total of seven suspects were named by the KPK which began with a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Sunday, October 6.

This gift was made after Sugeng and Andi got three projects in South Kalimantan. The details:

1. Construction of Football Fields in the Integrated Sports Area of South Kalimantan Province with selected provider PT WKM (Wismani Kharya Mandiri) with a work value of IDR 23 billion;

2. Integrated Samsat Development with selected provider PT HIU (Haryadi Indo Utama) with a work value of IDR 22 billion;

3. Development of Swimming Pools in the Integrated Sports Area of South Kalimantan Province with the selected provider CV BBB (Bunt Banua Bersama) with a work value of IDR 9 billion.
