Mighty Rupiah And Closed Strongly 1.29 Percent To Level Rp16.200 Per US Dollar
JAKARTA - The rupiah exchange rate closed higher on trading Tuesday, April 7. The rupiah strengthened 1.29 percent or 213 points to a level of Rp16,200 per US dollar.
At the start of trading, the rupiah has strengthened against the US dollar. However, it slowly turned weak after the data on the announcement of Indonesia's foreign exchange reserves (cadev) in March 2020, which fell 9.4 billion US dollars.
However, after that, slowly but surely the rupiah strengthened again and managed to maintain the rate of strengthening, even printing an increase of over 1 percent.
The majority of currencies in the region are in the green zone. Only the Hong Kong dollar weakened 0.02 percent against the US dollar.
Meanwhile, the South Korean won became the currency with the second largest strengthening after the rupiah. Won managed to gain 0.69 percent.
Following the Malaysian ringgit and Chinese yuan which both gained 0.51 percent. Meanwhile, the Singapore dollar also rose 0.48 percent.
