Guardiola Throws A Manchester City Signal Won't Buy Anyone On The January Exchange

JAKARTA - Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola gave a cold welcome when asked about the arrival of new players in the winter transfer market, January 2025.

A number of names are being linked to the Etihad. One of the closest members to The Citizens is Lens centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov.

Manchester City has reportedly agreed to the fee to bring the 20-year-old Uzbekistann player. However, Guardiola even denied it.

"The club didn't announce anything. I don't know. I don't know. What I expect from the start of the season is that our squad starts to return."

"Rodri is impossible, it's just one and the other are back (from injury). That's what I want."

"If that happened, I wouldn't be going to the transfer market this season. Not at all. We won't be in our current position."

"People say it's Rodri, but not just Rodri. We have a lot of problems, especially in the back lines that we still have."

"That's the reason why the club thinks about what to do in this transfer window or summer," Guardiola told Sky Sports.

Apart from Khusanov, recently Manchester City was linked with Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush.

Marmoush is projected to share the burden with Erling Haaland after Julian Alvarez's departure last summer.

Then, there is also another central defender alternative, namely 18-year-old Palmeiras player, Vitor Reis.

It did not stop there, The Citizens included a number of midfielders on the wanted list, such as Ederson (Atalanta), Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle United), and Martin Zubimendi (Real Sociedad) to replace Rodri's role.
