Patrick Kluiver Monitors League 1 Starting Early February

JAKARTA Patrick Kluivert will certainly monitor the progress of the Indonesian national team players in Liga 1 starting in early February 2025.

The Dutch coach will return to his country after making a visit to the Ministry of Youth and Sports on Monday, January 13, 2025.

He then returned to Indonesia in early February 2025 with the agenda of monitoring the players in Indonesia's highest level competition.

"They will return again in early February 2025 to monitor Indonesian national team players who appear at their respective clubs," said PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir, after accompanying Kluiver to the Kemenpora Office.

The first match, which is planned to be watched by former Barcelona and Ajax players, is that Dewa United host Persija Jakarta at Pakasari Stadium on February 8, 2025.

In that match, there are five Indonesian national team players who will appear. They are Muhammad Ferarri, Rizky Ridho, and Witan Sulaeman (Persija) and Egy Maulana Vikri and Ricky Kambuaya (Dewa United).

"Three players played at Persija and two players played at Dewa United. This was monitored directly by the infrastructure and other potential players," said Erick.

In addition, Kluivert and his coaching staff also have an agenda to visit several other cities in Indonesia to see firsthand the potential and talents of Indonesian national team players.

Kluivert was previously officially introduced to replace Shin Tae-yong on Sunday, January 12, 2025. He was offered a two-year contract with the option of an extension of two years.

After that, he had a dinner with Indonesian national team players who played in Liga 1. His agenda continued to visit the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) and monitor the training of the U-20 Indonesian national team.
