Police Pewriksa PO Bus Shakindra Trans Related To Deadly Accident In Batu City

BATU - Batu Resort Police (Polres), East Java conducted an examination of the Shakindra Trans autobus (PO) as a result of an accident that killed four people.

"Yes (examination of the bus PO)," said Batu Police Chief AKBP Andi Yudha Pranata as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, January 13.

He stated that the bus PO showed a cooperative attitude during the inspection.

This inspection is part of the development stage of the bus accident in Batu City, on Wednesday (8/1).

The police are still waiting for the issuance of the results of the vehicle inspection carried out by the National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC), on Friday (10/1).

"Cooperative, (the examination) is still ongoing today. Investigating but we are waiting for the results of the NTSC and the East Java Provincial Transportation Service to inspect vehicles," he said.

Until now, there are still three injured victims who are undergoing treatment at two hospitals in Batu City and Malang City.

"Two (victims are being treated) at the Saiful Anwar Regional General Hospital (RSSA) and one at Bhayangkara Hospital (TK.III Hasta Brata, Batu City). Seven (victims) are outpatient," he said.

The East Java Regional Police have named a bus driver with police number DK 7942 GB as a suspect in an accident in Batu City.

The bus driver was charged with Article 311 paragraph 3, paragraph 4, and paragraph 5 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 22 of 2022 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation, with the threat of 12 years in prison.

Based on the processing of the crime scene carried out by the East Java Police Traffic Director and the Batu Police, it was found that the accident occurred from Jalan Imam Bonjol to Jalan Patimura.

In total, on the two roads there are seven collision points along 2.3 kilometers.

The incident caused 14 motorists to become victims, of which four died

In addition to the fatalities, the accident that occurred on Wednesday (8/1) at 19.15 WIB also damaged 12 motorized vehicles, details of six two-wheeled vehicles and six others being four-wheeled vehicles.
