Regarding The Bamboo Fence In The Tangerang Sea Regarding PSN PIK 2, KKP: We Are Investigating

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is reluctant to comment on who the perpetrators were behind the installation of a sea fence in Tangerang Waters, Banten.

Previously, it was rumored that the sea fence had something to do with the National Strategic Project (PSN) Pantai Indah Kapuk or PIK 2 belonging to conglomerate Sugianto Kusuma alias Aguan.

Special Staff to the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries for Public Relations and Public Communication (KKP) Doni Ismanto Darwin said that currently his party is still in the investigation stage.

"We are currently in the investigation stage, gathering various information. Including findings in the field," Doni told VOI, Monday, January 13.

According to him, the public must be patient to find out who is behind the installation of the sea fence in the waters.

"Therefore, please be patient until we finish conducting a thorough investigation. So as not to be confused," he concluded.

Previously, Fisherman on Kronjo Island, Heru revealed that the fence made of bamboo installed in the middle of the sea belonged to Agung Sedayu Group. This was discovered after fishermen asked the handyman who installed the fence.

"The handyman said that they installed it now, right, they said it was for PSN. Yes for PSN, that's it, Agung Sedayu (Group)," said Heru when met at the location, Thursday, January 9.

He said that the builders came from Ketapang and Pakuhaji fishermen in Tangerang Regency.

Heru also ensured that none of the residents participated in installing bamboo in the form of a fence in the sea of Tangerang Regency. The reason is, the residents where they refuse the bamboo.

"The one who installed it, yes, if I'm not mistaken, the fishermen from Ketapang. If the residents here don't want to," he said.

The KKP has only sealed 30.16 kilometers of sea fencing activities in the waters of Tangerang Regency, Banten, on Thursday, January 9, 2025. In fact, the sea fence in the form of bamboo has been around since 4-5 months ago.

Based on a video upload on the official Instagram account of KKP @kkpgoid, Thursday, January 9, the officers of the Directorate General of Marine and Fishery Resources Supervision (PSDKP) of the KKP were seen standing on the sea fence by posting a red banner that reads the termination of the fasting activity.

"The termination of the Sea Restriction Activities without a permit," reads the text on the banner.
