Mataram Police Arrest Methamphetamine Dealers Selling Rp50 Thousand Student Class Packages

JAKARTA - The Mataram Police, West Nusa Tenggara arrested a suspected shabu-shabu dealer with the initials IGC alias Catur (41) who sold packages at a selling price of IDR 50,000 to target student class buyers.

"So, from the evidence that we got in accordance with the code in plastic, some are priced at Rp. 200 to Rp. 50,000. The markets are from various circles, including young people who are still in school, they are prepared packages for Rp. 50,000 to be easily affordable," said Head of Drugs at the Mataram Police, AKP I Gusti Ngurah Bagus Suputra, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 13.

The perpetrator was caught in a police operation early this morning at around 00.30 WITA in one of the yards of an empty house in the North Abian body neighborhood.

The police confiscated 97 packages of crystal methamphetamine, a clear plastic clip ready for distribution. The package of methamphetamine was wrapped into four classes. The first package was 50 packages for the selling price of Rp100, 27 packages for the selling price of Rp150 thousand, 15 packages for the selling price of Rp200 thousand and 5 pockets for the selling price of Rp50 thousand.

In addition, the police also found electric scales, scissors, taped plastic pipes, empty plastic clips, and cash allegedly from the sale of methamphetamine worth IDR 2.5 million.

"We have secured the perpetrators based on information from the public that the location of the arrests is often used as a place for transactions and narcotics abuse," he said.

From there, the police developed towards the perpetrator's residence in Abian, South. From this second location, the police did not find any evidence related to the circulation of methamphetamine.

"From where he lives, there is zero. All the evidence was found where he was selling, at the first crime scene he was arrested. The total gross amount of crystal methamphetamine that we secured was 52.22 grams, more than half an ounce," he said.

"Currently, we have secured the suspect at the Mataram Police. We are still investigating where the perpetrator got the goods," said Bagus.
