Bareskrim Receives Report Of ICW Researcher Who Experienced Doxing After Jokowi's Criticism

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police received reports of alleged doxing or dissemination of personal data and information experienced by Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) researcher, Diky Anandya.

The alleged docking crime occurred after criticizing the 7th President Joko Widodo who was nominated for the OCCRP version of the corruption figure.

"Today ICW and TAUD have submitted a report on the doxing case experienced by ICW researchers, our report has been received by the SPKT Bareskrim Polri and further investigation will be carried out by investigators," said ICW researcher Tibiko Zabar, to reporters, Monday, January 13.

Meanwhile, the Head of the ContraS Law Division, Andri Yunus, said that it was not only the spread of personal data experienced by the ICW researcher. However, messages with threatening tones.

The form of threat even involves life. On this basis, it was decided to officially make a police report.

"The threat to life was that we were also threatened with death and then his life was taken away. Then there were also intimidating words using harsh words made through unknown numbers," he said.

In the report, several pieces of evidence were included. One of them is a screenshot showing threatening sentences.

It is hoped that with the reported criminal act, the National Police in particular can be handled immediately and thoroughly investigated.

"We also include a screenshot containing a telephone call from an unknown number and then also a short message chat via WhatsApp which also contains such a threatening tone," said Andri.

The report is registered with the number LP/B/17/I/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri. The reported party is suspected of violating Article 67 paragraph (1) and (2) of Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning Personal Data Protection.
