Prone To Damage Public Facilities, Locations For Hunting For Jagat Coins In Jakarta Are Guarded By Satpol PP

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Teguh Setyabudi instructed the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP to oversee the points of hunting for coins with prizes from the Jagat application distributed in Jakarta.

The supervision of the location of the Jagat coin hunting is carried out to anticipate damage to government-owned public facilities due to the search for coins based on specific radius instructions from the Jagat application.

This activity has been proven to damage a number of facilities in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, such as garden lights, grass damage due to being stepped on, to paving blocks dismantled by hunters.

"Satpol PP has guarded the social facilities, which may make the area to look for world coins, then also at the park and also the mayor also refresh his staff for that," Teguh told reporters, Monday, January 13.

In Jakarta, the Jagat coin is spread across a number of public spaces such as Lapangan Banteng and Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM). Not only that, but the coin with the prize is also distributed on the edges of the highway and pedestrian lanes.

According to Teguh, people who are following the trend of hunting for Jagat coins should be aware not to damage public facilities.

"I urge the citizens of DKI Jakarta, let's take care of our social facilities, don't let the ceramics be ironed to look for something uncertain," said Teguh.

The Jagat application, a virtual world-based social media platform, is in the spotlight after the "Jahat Coin Hunt" feature sparked the phenomenon of hunting for coins in various city parks in Bandung and several cities in the country. These activities have reportedly damaged public facilities, such as garden plants and decorations.

Initially Coin Jagat was a game in the Jagat application. Based on the data listed in Google Play, Jagat is a social application that is made so that users are always close to their family and friends. This application was originally used to show the user's real-time location with one another, and to mark a favorite and memorable place.

Users can also send emojis to other users. However, the Jagat application then offers the game "Jahat Coin Hunt" or Jagat Coin which can be exchanged for a total prize of IDR 850,000,000 in Jakarta in December 2024.

But now the game is starting to feel bad for the environment. In addition to the impact on public facilities, this application also attracts attention because of the information collected and shared from its users.
