Vice President Gibran Scheduled To Review Free Nutrition Food At Ambon School
AMBON - Vice President (Vice President) Gibran Rakabuming Raka is scheduled to visit Ambon City, Maluku, on January 15, 2024, to directly review the Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG) at schools in the city.
"The information received states that the Vice President will stay in touch with provincial government officials and conduct a field review of the implementation of the MBG Program in elementary schools in Ambon city," said Head of the Maluku Communication and Information Service (Diskominfo) Melky Lohy as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 13.
In several previous regions, the Vice President also did the same thing as a form of supervision and ensured that the implementation of the program met nutritional standards.
Since the first day of the implementation of free nutritious meals in Indonesia, there are 14 schools along with 2,279 beneficiaries in Ambon City. It is planned that the number of schools receiving free nutritious meals from the local government will increase according to the capacity and number of existing kitchens.
Regarding the agenda for the visit of Vice President Gibran, the Maluku Provincial Government (Pemprov) made a number of preparations to ensure the smoothness of the visit.
Meanwhile, to ensure the safety and smooth running of visits, the Maluku Regional Police (Polda) held a coordination meeting and gave technical directions regarding the implementation of security.
"Regarding the visit of the Vice President in Ambon, we carried out security measures according to procedures," said Karo Ops of the Maluku Police, Kombes Pol Ronald Rumondor.
In its implementation, the MBG program aims to provide healthy and nutritious food to groups in need, with a focus on children or other vulnerable groups.
This program is part of the IFSR (Indonesia Food Security Review) service and cooperates with the United Nation World Food Program and is part of the School Meals Coalition which is organized with the aim of overcoming the problem of hunger, malnutrition, and improving public health.
In this program, the food provided follows the established nutritional standards, including the need for adequate protein, vitamins, minerals, and energy.
