Hasto Preparations Before Fulfilling KPK Calls Today: Study Suspect's Rights To Black Hair Paint
The Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto confirmed that he would fulfill the summons of investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) today, Monday, January 13. He will be summoned in his capacity as a suspect in the alleged bribery of interim replacement management (PAW) for members of the DPR RI and the obstruction of the investigation.
A number of preparations have been made by Hasto before fulfilling this second summons. Among them is studying his rights as a suspect when undergoing examination.
"I have obligations, even I have read my rights as a suspect. I have learned the rights as a suspect as well as possible," said Hasto in the Gelora Bung Karno area, Jakarta, Sunday, January 12.
Hasto said he would be committed to respecting the entire legal process addressed to him. Moreover, the alleged case that ensnared him was an old problem.
"Because this has been a problem for a long time and in accordance with my commitment I will fully obey the entire legal process. The law is just. We respect all processes directed at me," he said.
Not only that, Hasto also prepared his appearance. He has even painted his hair black.
"If someone asks what Mr. Hasto preparations, at least my hair, I will be black," Hasto told reporters at the PDIP DPP office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Thursday, January 9.
Hasto explained that his actions were not without meaning. Apart from making him look younger, based on the statement by the Chairman of the PDIP DPP Djarot Saiful Hidayat, this black hair should not be gray in law enforcement.
"As a symbol, nothing is gray in law. If Pak Djarot said he would be younger," he said.
Meanwhile, the anti-corruption commission rescheduled Hasto for questioning after January 10 or PDIP's 52nd Anniversary. This is in accordance with his request to postpone the examination on Monday, January 6.
"For those concerned, it is certain that the reschedule will be rescheduled, most likely above the 10th (January, ed)," Tessa told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, January 6.
Tessa did not specify the reason investigators granted Hasto's request. But this kind of incident is common.
"Of course, if the person concerned has agreed on the next examination date with the investigator, he should be obeyed by the person concerned," he said.
"In the event that the investigator also has the flexibility to be able to see the reasons for the absence of both witnesses and suspects, whether it is acceptable or not, return to the Criminal Procedure Code. If the witness is not present for appropriate and reasonable reasons, the investigator can recall with a second summons," continued Tessa.

Previously reported, the KPK developed an interim replacement bribery (PAW) case that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku. Two people were later named as suspects, namely PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who are PDIP cadres as well as lawyers.
It didn't stop there, Hasto was also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the hand arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.
