JK Goes To London To Attend "Retret" Thoughts For Muslim Minority
JAKARTA - The 10th and 12th Vice Presidents of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla left for London, England, to attend a retret of ideas for Muslim minorities around the world which will take place on January 13, 2025.
"This event will bring together Muslim leaders from various countries to discuss the challenges faced by the minority Muslim community around the world," said Jusuf Kalla's statement received in Jakarta, Sunday.
The retreat of the thought will be attended by ten former Muslim leaders from Muslim-majority countries, as well as Muslim leaders from minority countries, such as the United States, Canada, Britain, and South Africa.

The discussion in the retreat organized by the Justice For All institution will focus on efforts to support Muslim minorities that face discrimination, persecution, including genocide in various parts of the world.
The retreat aims to deepen understanding of the life experiences of diverse Muslim minorities, identify common and unique challenges faced, and explore concrete strategies to strengthen the rights, representations and welfare of the Muslim community.
Jusuf Kalla was invited because of his experience in overcoming conflicts in Aceh, Ambon, and Poso. The figure, known as a peace figure and mediator of the conflict, hopes to make a significant contribution to the formulation of strategic steps to support the minority Muslim community around the world.
The event will take place under Chatham House rules so that information from discussions can be used, but the identities and affiliations of speakers and participants should not be disclosed outside the meeting.
"It is hoped that the results of this retreat will strengthen the support system for Muslim minorities and produce action plans that can be implemented by Muslim-majority countries," said Jusuf Kalla.
