Hasto Kristiyanto Ready To Respond To KPK Calls Regarding Cases Of Alleged Bribery And Opportunities Of Investigation

The Secretary-General of the PDI-P, Hasto Kristiyanto, revealed that he had studied the rights he had as a suspect ahead of the investigation by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Monday, January 13, 2025.

"I understand my obligations and rights as a suspect, and I have studied them well," said Hasto in the Gelora Bung Karno area, Jakarta.

Hasto emphasized his commitment to respect the entire ongoing legal process. He also mentioned that the case that ensnared him was a problem that had been going on for quite a long time.

"This is a matter that has been a long time and in accordance with my commitment, I will comply with the entire applicable legal process. We respect every legal step addressed to me," he added.

He also noted his attitude to respect the legal process in line with the PDI-P's journey as a political party. Hasto remembers the struggle of his party which has gone through many challenges since the PNI's struggle in the Bung Karno era to the current PDI-P.

"I will follow this whole process with full confidence, because we understand that the path taken by the PDI-P, since the PNI era until now, is indeed full of challenges that must be faced with ideological beliefs," he explained.

Previously, Hasto confirmed that he had received a summons from the KPK to provide information on Monday, January 13, 2025 at 10.00 WIB. He also emphasized that as a law-abiding citizen, he would be here to fulfill the summons by providing the best information.

"I have received a summons from the KPK to attend on January 13, 2025. As a law-abiding citizen, I will fulfill the summons and provide information as well as possible," said Hasto as quoted by ANTARA.

Previously, Hasto was scheduled to be questioned on Monday (6/1) in the case of alleged bribery and obstruction of the investigation related to the Harun Masiku case. However, he was not present at the schedule, so the KPK rescheduled the examination on January 13, 2025.

According to the Chairman of the PDIP DPP for National Legal System Reform, Ronny Talapessy, Hasto submitted a request to conduct an examination after the party's anniversary commemoration on Friday (10/1).

KPK spokesman, Tessa Mahardhika, confirmed that rescheduling the examination is a common thing and is not a form of privilege.

KPK investigators previously named Hasto Kristiyanto as a suspect in a case related to Harun Masiku. The KPK suspects that Hasto was involved in lobbying KPU member Wahyu Setiawan to appoint Harun Masiku as a candidate for PDIP DPR RI elected from the South Sumatra I electoral district.

In addition, Hasto is also suspected of arranging advocate Donny Tri Istiqomah to send bribes to Wahyu Setiawan through a former member of Bawaslu, Agustiani Tio Fridelina, who had previously also been convicted in this case.
