Anies Baswedan Criticizes Students Sentenced To Study On The Floor
JAKARTA - Former Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) Anies Baswedan said that sanctions against children should have elements of discipline.
"Everything that is sanctioned against children, students, must have an element of discipline," said Anies Baswedan on the sidelines of the Belfos 4.0 speech meeting entitled Revolutionary Leadership in Central Globalization in Jakarta, Saturday, January 11.
He said this was in response to the case of a child being sentenced to sit on the floor because he had not paid the tuition fee in Medan, North Sumatra. According to him, sanctions for children must also have elements of learning and be positive.
"Disciplinary must have learning elements. If there is no element of learning, it only satisfies people who impose sanctions or provide discipline," said Anies Baswedan.
According to him, the effort to discipline children aims to return children to the right things in an educational way.
