Jayapura Police Deploy 370 Personnel To Secure PSBS Biak Vs Persib Bandung Match
JAKARTA - The Jayapura Resort Police (Polres) stated that as many as 370 personnel secured the BRI Liga 1 match between PSBS Biak and Persib Bandung at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Kampung Harapan, Jayapura Regency, Papua, Saturday 11 January.
The second match of the teams is scheduled to take place on Saturday afternoon, and is predicted to be crowded with spectators.
Jayapura Police Chief AKBP Umar Nasatekay through the Head of Ops Kompol Septen P Sianturi in Sentani, Saturday said this security was a preventive step to ensure the match ran safely and conducively.
"We have prepared security strategies inside and outside the stadium, including at the entrance and parking lot to prevent unwanted things," he said, quoted by Antara.
According to him, these joint personnel will be placed at various strategic points, including spectator stands, parking areas, and traffic lines around the stadium.
In addition, his party is also preparing anticipatory steps for potential security disturbances, such as riots between supporters and traffic jams.
"In addition to security, we also urge all supporters to maintain order and not bring prohibited items into the stadium. Let's make this match a peaceful and entertaining sporting event," he said.
He explained that the match between PSBS Biak and Persib Bandung was one of the matches awaited in BRI Liga 1, considering that both have a large support base.
