Moldy Calls The Song Radja Plagiarized By Australian Singers Even Though The Similarity Level Is Very Low

JAKARTA - Behind the controversy over Radja's latest single entitled 'What Sih', Moldy (guitar) as a songwriter tries to argue by giving an example of Radja's song plagiarized by foreign musicians.

In a video uploaded on Radja's official Instagram account, Moldy mentions a song from Australian singer Troye Sivan entitled 'Angel Baby' (2021) plagiarizing Radja's song titled 'Tulus' (2005).

If it's called plagiarism or plagiarizing it, if I say yes the tone is the same, Troye Sivan, an artist from Australia. In a tone, it's actually (the song Radja, 'Tulus') plagiarized. It's on the stem of his refrain body he's in," said Moldy, citing a video uploaded by Radja's Instagram, Friday, January 10.

A big question for Moldy for his ability to analyze musical aspects. The reason is, the footage shown in the video is too short and gives the public the impression of being ambiguous.

Meanwhile, the two songs use two different basic notes, 'Tulus' from Radja using the basic notes C, while 'Angel Baby' from Troye Sivan uses the basic B flat tone.

The pieces of the song that were shown by Moldy were both part of the chorus of the song, but the melody went with different principles.

The piece of the song Tulus plays the sol-la-do-la-mi-mi..., while the cut of the song 'Angel Baby' is played with the sol-la-do-re-re-do melody...

From the explanation above, it can be seen that only three similar initial tones. Both were played on the first (one major) record when entering the sixth tone, but the weight point was different, Radja's song fell right down the beat, while Troye Sivan's song fell before the bottom beat.

Although it sounds similar if you only hear it for a little bit, overall, the two songs are very different. There are no other similarities.

Meanwhile, the song What Sih with the song APT. from Rosé and Bruno Mars, is very likely to be called an attempt to plagiarism. Moreover, Moldy and Ian Kasela have admitted that they took inspiration from the viral song.

Not only from the musical aspect, the selection of artwork and appearance in the music video are very similar.
