Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono: The Armistice And Independence Of Palestine Is The Key
JAKARTA - Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono ensured that Indonesia would not abandon the Palestinian struggle, with Palestinian independence and a ceasefire key.
Speaking in the 2025 Annual Press Statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs (PPTM) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jakarta, Friday (10/1), Foreign Minister Sugiono said Israel's atrocities in Palestine, which had been going on for 460 days, left tens of thousands of Palestinians dead, millions more displaced.
"These numbers are not just statistics, because each number represents human life," said Foreign Minister Sugiono.
"Therefore, Indonesia continues to be committed to supporting the struggle of the Palestinian people, sending humanitarian aid, and supporting UNRWA (UN agency for Palestinian refugees)," he continued.
Foreign Minister Sugiono further said that Indonesia is of the view that international law must be obeyed without double standards. Indonesia also welcomes the law fatwa of the International Court, urging the accountability of Israel in front of international law.
"Indonesia believes that the two-state solution must be implemented according to international parameters, where an independent ceasefire and the independent Palestinian State are key," he stressed.
