Ukraine Receives IDR 50 Trillion In Funds From The European Union
JAKARTA - Ukraine received a first-stage disbursement of 3 billion euros (equivalent to Rp50 trillion) from a loan portion of the European Union approved by members of Group Seven and supported by revenue from frozen Russian state assets.
G7 leaders in October 2024 agreed to lend around 50 billion US dollars to Ukraine through various channels.
"Today, we sent 3 billion euros to Ukraine, the EU's first payment as part of a G7 loan. It gives Ukraine the financial power to continue to fight for its freedom and win," said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal confirmed the transfer of funds in a statement on the Telegram app.

The funding channel agreed by the G7 includes Macro Financial Aid Loans from the EU, Multi-Donor IMF Administrative Accounts for Ukraine, and newly formed Financial Intermediaries Funds for Ukraine at the World Bank.
In December 2024, the US Treasury transferred a US share of $20 billion from a G7 loan to a World Bank fund.
