Malaysia Open 2025: Lanny/Fadia Fall, Indonesian Representative Ludes
JAKARTA Indonesia no longer has representatives at the Malaysia Open 2025 after Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti were also eliminated from the tournament.
The pair followed in the footsteps of their colleagues after losing two straight games 12-21 and 11-21 against Chinese representative Jia Yifan/Zhang Shu Xian, on Friday, January 10, 2025, evening WIB.
"There is no burden and we don't think that we are the last representatives of Indonesia left," said Fadia in a statement from PBSI Public Relations.
Lanny/Fadia are one of two Indonesian representatives who managed to break into the quarter-finals. The other is the women's singles Kusuma Wardani.
Putri had already returned this morning. The 22-year-old badminton player lost to the rubber game against former world number one from Thailand, Ratchanok Intanon.

Overall, Indonesia fielded nine representatives in this event. Four of them returned home in the first half and the other three were intercepted in the second half on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
Lanny/Fadia will then return to play as the women's doubles pair at the Indonesia Masters 2025 on 21-26 January 2025 at Istora, Senayan, Jakarta.
Fadia will continue his journey to appear at the India Open 2025 next week. There, he played in the mixed doubles with Dejan Ferdinandsyah.
"After this I will return to Jakarta, while Kak Fadia will play mixed doubles at the 2025 India Open before competing again at the 2025 Indonesia Masters," said Lanny.
This result automatically made Indonesia for the second year in a row not securing the title at the Super 1000 BWF level event.
