Persib Can't Bring The Best Strength To PSBS Biak Headquarters

JAKARTA Persib Bandung could not attend with their best strength in an away match to PSBS Biak headquarters in the second round of Liga 1 2024/2025.

The fight between the two teams was held at the Lukas Enembe Stadium, Jayapura, West Papua, on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Kick-off the match took place at 13.30 WIB or at 15.30 WIT.

Persib Bandung coach Bojan Hodak confirmed that five players were confirmed absent from the match so that it became an opportunity for players who rarely got playing minutes to prove their quality.

"Now there is an opportunity to play, then prove that you are better than them," said the Croatian coach as quoted from the New Indonesian League website.

Four of them who were absent were Ciro Alves, Kevin Ray Mendoza, Beckham Putra, and Gustavo Franca. The first two names have needs, while the other two are currently serving a yellow card accumulation sentence.

In addition, the new player Gervane Zjandric Adonnis Kastaneer is also doubtful because it is still in the registration process to the competition operator. However, he was invited to adapt with his new team.

"I only brought him to meet his teammates and to unite with the team faster. In addition, so that he understands culture and habits in Indonesia more quickly," said Bojan.

Currently, Persib Bandung is still in the first position in the Liga 1 standings with a collection of 39 points. They are still two points ahead of Persebaya Surabaya who trailed in second place.

Persib is still the only team that has not lost 17 matches. In that period, they won 11 times and the remaining six got a draw.

In addition, Maung Bandung also has a good record of PSBS Biak. In the first clash of the season at the opening of the competition, they managed to secure three points with a 4-1 victory.

The statistics of away matches owned by Persib are also good so far. From eight games to the opponent's headquarters, they are unbeaten (four wins and four draws).
