BPOM Finds Basi Vegetables In Free Nutrition Eating Program

JAKARTA - The Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) found stale processed vegetables used in the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program. Thus, it was immediately prevented before being distributed.

"There are vegetables that are stale in essence, we prevent these stale vegetables from being distributed," said Head of BPOM Taruna Ikrar to reporters, Friday, January 10.

Nevertheless, Ikrar refused to convey in detail the findings on the grounds that he was reluctant to cause concern.

It is only stated that the findings were obtained when his party participated in supervising the implementation of the program.

"Some reports from the POM headquarters under our coordination reported and after that have been submitted to the work unit for the distribution and that has been prevented," he said.

According to him, the most important thing has been overcome and BPOM will continue to oversee the program run by President Prabowo Subianto.

"It's not good if I tell the place why? Because we don't want to cause panic, but it means we want to show that the POM has played a role in the front front for the success of this free-gisted meal," said Ikrar.
