Hyundai Opens Opportunity To Present Affordable Hybrid Cars In Indonesia
JAKARTA - PT Hyundai Motors Indonesia (HMID) has presented two of its newest hybrid model lines for the Indonesian market consisting of All-New Santa Fe HEV and New live HEV at the end of 2024.
HMID's Chief Operating Officer (COO), Fransiscus Soerjopranoto, confirmed that his party will soon present a large number of powertrain options, including hybrids.
"I confirm that there are seven models that will be launched soon, which are mixed hybrid, ICE, and EV products," said Frans when met by the media at Mall Kelapa Gading 3, Jakarta, Friday, January 10.
Frans also said that it is possible to present a hybrid choice at an affordable price. What's more, Hyundai has just launched New Creta as an SUV line in the medium-low segment at the cheapest price of less than IDR 300 million.
"Hyundai is currently stronger in premium or high. But with the cheapest introduction of Creta reaching Rp299 million, it means we can also play in the low segment," added Frans.
He also added that with the presence of the latest Creta, it opens up opportunities for Hyundai to present affordable cars including in the hybrid segment in Indonesia. Unfortunately, he could not explain the details further.
"Because it is already strong in the premium segment, we will try to play in medium-low including hybrid," explained Frans.
