KPK Focuses On Evidence Of Hasto Kristiyanto's Case, Not Affected By PDIP Claims
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has chosen to focus on investigating allegations of bribery in the management of interim replacement (PAW) members of the Indonesian House of Representatives and the obstruction of the investigation that ensnared PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto.
The KPK admits that it will not be affected by the narrative that appears in the public.
"We are actually more focused on fulfilling the evidence, yes," said KPK Investigation Director Asep Guntur Rahayu to reporters quoted on Friday, January 10.
Asep said that a similar statement had actually been made by the leadership and the KPK Spokesperson. The institution will neglect various assumptions that arise in the process of strengthening evidence.
"We are not included in this," he said.
Previously reported, the KPK developed an interim replacement bribery (PAW) case that ensnared former KPU commissioner Wahyu Setiawan and his fugitive, Harun Masiku.
Two people were later named as suspects, namely PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and Donny Tri Istiqomah who are PDIP cadres as well as lawyers.
It didn't stop there, Hasto was also a suspect in the obstruction of the investigation. He is suspected of trying to obstruct the legal process, one of which is by asking Harun to damage his cellphone and run away after the hand arrest operation (OTT) was carried out.
