Heavy Rain Since Wednesday Night, 3 Points In West Jakarta Flooded

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported that until 05.00 WIB, Thursday, January 9, three roads in West Jakarta were still flooded due to high rainfall since Wednesday night.

"Information on puddles until 05.00 WIB, flooding is still happening on three roads," said Head of the DKI Jakarta BPBD Data and Information Center, Mohamad Yohan.

He explained that the rain that flushed the DKI Jakarta area and its surroundings from Wednesday night to Thursday morning caused the increase in the status of the Pulo Gadung Water Gate to Alert 3 (Alert), triggering flooding in a number of areas.

The following is data on affected areas: 1. Jalan Strategi Raya, Kelurahan Joglo, Kembangan District, West Jakarta, with water levels reaching 40 cm. 2. Jalan Basoka Raya, Kelurahan Joglo, Kembangan District, West Jakarta, submerged in water as high as 40 cm. 3. Jalan Patra Raya, Kelurahan Duri Kepa, Kebon Jeruk District, West Jakarta, with inundation as high as 10 cm.

BPBD DKI Jakarta has deployed personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region and coordinate with the Water Resources Service (SDA), the Highways Office, and the Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) to carry out water extraction and ensure that water lines function properly. This step was taken with the local village and sub-district apparatus.

"The inundation is targeted to recede in a short time," said Mohamad Yohan.

BPBD DKI juga mengimbau masyarakat untuk tetap berhati-hati dan waspada terhadap potensi genangan. Jika terjadi keadaan darurat, masyarakat dapat menghubungi nomor telepon 112.
