Alasan Kluivert Bawa Pastoor Dan Landzaat Jadi Asisten Di Timnas Indonesia

JAKARTA - Patrick Kluivert brought two of his assistants, Alex Pastoor and Denny Landzaat, when they started working in the Indonesian national team.

In an interview with De Telegraaf, Kluivert revealed the reason for choosing the two names, which he has known for a long time.

"I took a professional football coach course with Alex. We had a good connection. Recently, at Almere City, he showed expertise in his hands."

"Denny has been my friend since he was playing football at Ajax, but the most important thing is that he is a very good and loyal assistant," Kluiver said.

Landzaat, which has the name Denny Domingues Landzaat, was a professional footballer before becoming a coach. He once defended the Dutch National Team at the 2006 World Cup.

The Amsterdam-born player on May 6, 1976 grew up from Ajax Amsterdam's academy and was promoted to the first team in 1995/1996. He also won the Eredivisie title with Ajax.

In addition, Landzaat was also poor across several Dutch clubs, such as MVV, Willem II, AZ Alkamaar, Feyenoord, and Twente. He is also noted to have played for English club, Wigan Athletic.

Shifting to Pastoor, he is also a former professional player. A number of Dutch clubs have been defended, such as Volendam and Heerenveen.

He also briefly anchored to Belgian club Harelbeke, before closing his career in Austria with Austria Lustenau and SCR Altach.

Unfortunately, Pastoor's football career did not go so far that he never had the opportunity to defend the Dutch National Team.

However, he has a coaching experience that is somewhat more classy than his work as a player.

Pastor had flown to the Republic of Ceska to lead Slavia Prague (2014), before returning to the Netherlands with AZ Alkamaar (assistent and caretaker), Sparta Rotterdam, and Almere City.

On the sidelines of a coaching career in the Netherlands, he has been to Austria to investigate the SCR Altach.

Pastor seems to be trusted by Kluivers to handle technicalities in the Indonesian national team given his rich experience.

Meanwhile, Patrick Kluivert was officially announced as coach of the Indonesian national team on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, to replace Shin Tae-yong who was sacked on Monday, January 6, 2025.

The plan is that PSSI will introduce Kluiver to the public on January 12, 2025, the day after he arrives in the country.
