Ukrainian Emergency Oil Depot Claimed By Ukraine Targets Nuclear Bombing Air Base
JAKARTA - Ukraine said the attack that burned oil depots in Russia'sangels City was carried out because the location became an air base for Russian nuclear bombers.
The governors of the Russian region said Engels and Saratov were targeted by mass drone strikes and fires broke out at the industrial site, which was not named.
It is claimed that there were no casualties as a result of this Ukrainian attack.
The Ukrainian military reported several major explosions and fires at the "Kristal" oil depot, which is said to provide fuel for the military airfield "Engels-2".
The attack created serious logistical issues for the strategic flights of Russian colonialists and significantly reduced their ability to attack peaceful Ukrainian cities and civilian objects, the Ukrainian military said.
Presidential adviser Oleksandr Kamyshin in X said Ukraine deployed long-range capabilities' in the attack.
He used the hashtag #MadeInUkraine to signal that the weapons used were not supplied by the West.
In an escalation of the war that has lasted nearly three years, Ukraine last year began firing US ATACMS ballistic missiles and British Storm Shadows at Russia.
