Consumer-Maintained GIS Products, This Building Shop Focuses On Marketing Green Cements To Achieve Grand Prize Cars

JAKARTA - Being a building material store entrepreneur is not the dream of Novitasari (32), the owner of the Agung Jaya Building Shop (TB) in Ngrambe, Ngawi Regency, East Java. Novitasari did not even expect that the business that was initiated in 2016 with her husband would be more advanced and developing. The green Cement of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) is recognized as a secret to its success in developing a business. The green cement of GIS is well known for its quality and environmentally friendly so that it is of great interest to consumers.

Novitasari said that her current efforts were not in line with the expectations of her parents who wanted her to become an ASN (State Civil Service) or an office employee who was considered to have a clearer status and income.

"But my husband and I have no intention of going there. Then we saw a safe prospect and concerns basic needs for the community, namely boards or houses. Finally, we opened a building shop business, after getting married and moving from Solo to Ngawi," said Novitasari, in his statement, quoted Thursday, January 8.

The plan to open a building shop was realized in May 2016. Novitasari and her husband actually started a business from scratch, without having a family background or experience as traders. Luckily, on the recommendation of a relative, TB Agung Jaya immediately partnered with SIG.

According to Novitasari, since starting a business, she and her husband have only focused on GIS products. Starting from selling Semen Gresik, then growing into Dynamix cement with various variants and Semen Merdeka. In addition to quality and quality, GIS products have other advantages, namely environmentally friendly, so consumers are in demand.

"Dalam sehari kami menerima kiriman 200 sak semen produk SIG. Bahkan kalau pasar sedang ramai kali lipatnya. Dari sisi turnover, kami bisa mendapat rata-rata Rp10 juta - Rp12 juta per hari," ungkap Novitasari.

Novitasari admits that he is not worried about the existence of cheap cement products circulating in the market. Because GIS products have various variants that can be adjusted to consumer needs.

"Every product has its own advantage. For example, if consumers look for versatile cement and premiums, we will offer Semen Gresik or Dynamix Multipurpose. But if necessary for finishing and price is affordable, we will give Dynamix Masonry," said Novitasari.

For his loyalty, dedication, and achievements in marketing GIS products, Novitasari received a super grand prize in the form of 1 unit of Toyota Hilux Rangga car at the Retail Gathering event in the East Java area which took place at The Westin Surabaya Grand Ballroom & Convention Center, Tuesday 17 December 2024.

The gift from GIS is not the first for Novitasari. Previously he had received rewards in various forms, such as Umrah packages, tour packages, precious metals, as well as points that could be exchanged for cash.

SIG's Director of Business and Marketing, Subhan expressed his highest appreciation for the loyalty of building shop owners as strategic partners who have synergized to build business success with GIS. This is reinforced by the trust of partners who make GIS products the main choice in supporting sustainability and business growth together.

"As a strategic partner, customers have played an extraordinary role in bringing superior GIS products such as Semen Gresik and Dynamix closer to the Indonesian people. The loyalty and dedication of customers not only helps us expand our reach, but SIG as a state-owned company also ensures that the best quality of GIS products can be felt by all groups, from small projects to national infrastructure development," said Subhan.

According to Subhan, in the midst of increasingly challenging market competition, GIS is still able to prove its positive performance by focusing on market management. In the East Java region, sales of GIS products reached 3.14 million tons in the period January to November 2024. This sales achievement was also strengthened by controlling the market share in East Java by 60.5 percent in November 2024, or an increase of 0.9 percent compared to the same period last year of 59.6 percent.

East Java is the largest market share for GIS. Nearly 20 percent of GIS' total sales and revenues are generated from the East Java region. But SIG believes that success this year is not only about achievement, but also about how we grow together for a sustainable future.

"Loyality, hard work, and trust in theIG of loyal partners are important pillars in the company's journey. Therefore, this is our common success," said Subhan.
